Learn to Remove and replace the front bezel from your laptop's LCD screen.

All laptop LCD screens need to be repaired and maintained from time to time. This usually requires partial or complete disassembly to gain access to the LCD's components. LCD disassembly always requires that your remove the LCD's plastic bezel. The bezel is the front plastic cover of the LCD panel, and is usually held to the panel by several screws. Removing the bezel allows you access to the LCD's inverter circuit board, in addition to the fastening screws that hold the LCD screen in place.

1. Power down your laptop. Disconnect the power cable and any peripheral devices from the laptop. Close the LCD screen, flip the laptop over and remove the battery from the bottom casing of the laptop.

2. Flip the laptop over, and then open the LCD screen all the way. Remove the rubber screw covers from the front LCD bezel. The screw covers will be located on the front of the panel, or along the side edges, depending on your laptop's make and model.

3. Remove the retaining Phillips-head screws from the front LCD bezel. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the gap along the outside edge of the LCD panel. Start to pry off the front bezel. Work your way around the entire LCD panel until the front bezel is separated from the panel.

4. Remove the the bezel from the LCD panel and set it aside. and replace a new ASUS N61 N61J B Shell.

5. in reverse order, from Step 3 to Step 1.
